Chittoor: The fear of losing the elections badly is giving sleepless nights to the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu. The party is in tatters as it is evident in the poor show of strength in his son Nara Lokesh’s ‘Shankharavam’ poll campaign in the state.

Meanwhile, Naidu’s wife Nara Bhuvaneswari made a comment during her Kuppam visit that the TDP chief needs rest and asked the locals if they were ready to elect her in her husband’s place. Kuppam assembly has been a stronghold constituency of the opposition party for decades.

Even though Naidu contested and won from Kuppam seat for over three decades, the constituency did not witness considerable development. When YS Jagan Mohan Reddy assumed charge he ensured equitable development in the state. The YSRCP government carried out various developmental programmes in the assembly segment and the effect is clearly visible in the mood of the people.

Kuppam in-charge and MLC KRJ Bharat said the people of the assembly constituency are happy with the development during YS Jagan’s rule. Talking to Sakshi TV correspondent, Bharath said the electorate of Kuppam has expressed their support to the ruling party. He added that even if Bhuvaneswari fails to convince Naidu to retire from politics, the people of Kuppam are ready to defeat him in the elections so the senior opposition leader can retire from active politics.
