Veteran actress Urvashi is well known for her character roles in various Telugu movies in the 80's and 90’s decades. She proved her acting prowess by essaying various supporting roles like mother, sister and sister-in-law in several films.

Urvashi was born as Kavitha Ranjini in Kerala. She began his showbiz career as a child artiste. She made her debut as a heroine in Tamil movie Mundhanai Mudichu (1983). She acted as a female lead in a few films but soon switched to character roles. Urvashi has worked in as many as 700 films in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi languages.

Actress Urvashi and actor Manoj Jayan tied the knot in 2000. However, the marriage did not last long and ended in divorce in 2008. She later married builder Shivba Prasad. However, Tejalakshmi is living with her father Manoj.

Not long ago, Urvashi started her Instagram account where she shares some tidbits from her personal and cinematic lives. In a recent interview to some channel, she spoke about her daughter Tejalakshmi Jayan, who is also known as Kunjatta. Responding to a query, she said the reason why she did not allow her daughter to enter the film industry was people will instantly become her fans as she’s known by her parent’s name and she didn't want that.

Tejalakshmi is already quite popular on social media for her dubsmash videos. Recently, Urvashi shared her 23-year-old daughter Tejalakshmi’s pic and it soon went viral on social media. As Tejalakshmi has completed her studies and expressed her interest in becoming an actress, her mother agreed.
