Kareena Out! Nayanthara In for Yash's 'Toxic'

In a recent development, South Indian actress Nayanthara has reportedly replaced Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan in the upcoming Yash-starrer 'Toxic.' Kareena was originally set to make her debut in the southern film industry by portraying Yash's sister in the gangster drama directed by Geetu Mohandas.

However, she had to withdraw from the project due to scheduling conflicts. The news of Kareena and Yash sharing screen space had excited fans, but their hopes were dashed. Many feel this is a missed opportunity for the actress. On the other hand, Nayanthara is said to have liked the script and her character after multiple narration sessions with the filmmakers.

Once all aspects are finalized, the National Award-winning actress will soon come on board as Yash's sister. 'Toxic' features Kiara Advani as the female lead opposite Yash and comes with the intriguing tagline "Fairy tale for grown-ups."

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the gangster action drama is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 10, 2025. With Nayanthara's inclusion, the star power of the project has received a major boost.
