Shooting for the highly anticipated sequel 'Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam' will begin later this month but without the lead star, Prabhas. The pan-India blockbuster 'Salaar' is moving full speed ahead with its follow-up, as director Prashanth Neel plans to complete the entire shoot by October or November 2024.

Prabhas, however, won't join the Part 2 filming until July due to promotional obligations for his upcoming sci-fi release 'Kalki 2898 AD' in June 2024. This will allow Neel to first shoot scenes without the protagonist. He would then tackle major intense action sequences that see former best friends Salaar (Prabhas) and Vardha Raja Mannar (Prithviraj Sukumaran) turn against each other, raising the stakes from the first film.

The initial shooting for Part 2 will take place in Chennai and Hyderabad. Neel and his writers have fine-tuned the script, incorporating feedback from last year's 'Salaar' release. Sources report that the makers are aiming for a Christmas 2025 release, replicating the successful holiday release timing of the first 'Salaar' film last year.

Neel will film the majority of Part 2 this year, with final touches planned for the first half of 2025. The ensemble cast also features Shruti Haasan, Tinnu Anand, Jagapathi Babu, and Madhu Guruswamy in key roles.
