Happy Birthday Trisha Krishnan: South Queen Trisha Krishnan is celebrating her birthday today (May 4). The celebrated actress has been reigning the South film industry for the last 25 years and it has been a roller-coaster journey for the actress who managed to leave an indelible mark on the audience with her acting prowess and unforgettable performances. 

She is one of the few rare actresses who ruled Tamil, Telugu and Kannada film industries at the same time. As she turned 41 today, let’s take a look at some of her milestones in personal and professional lives: 

Trisha was born to Krishnan and Uma in Chennai in 1983. After completing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, she stepped into the world of modelling. Subsequently, she won the Miss Chennai 1999 beauty pageant and in the same year, she made her first appearance in the Tamil movie ‘Jodi’ in a supporting role. 

Varsham movie gets Trisha name and fame:

She made her Tamil debut as Sandhya in Mounam Pesiyadhe (2002). However, she became an overnight sensation with her debut in the Telugu cinema with ‘Varsham’ movie. In the Prabhas-starrer movie, Trisha’s Sailaja alia Shailu character was loved by audiences and she got praises for her acting prowess. After this movie, she became a regular face in Telugu films. She has worked alongside senior heroes and new and upcoming actors.

Recently, Trisha garnered appreciation for her role as ‘Sathya’ in Vijay’s ‘Leo’ movie. Currently, she is focussed on female-oriented movies. Chiranjeevi, Ajith, Vijay, Kamal Hassan, Venkatesh and Aamir Khan are Trisha’s favourite actors. 

Controversy

Varsham actress was embroiled in a controversy in 2014. She had endorsed PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) which had obtained a Supreme Court ban on Jallikattu, which is a bull-taming sport organised during the Pongal festival in Tamil Nadu. The actress had to face the irate supporters of Jallikattu and had to leave a shooting location abruptly after the angry protesters refused to go back home. 

The same year, reports emerged in the media that Trisha had secretly engaged to a businessman Varun Manian. Initially, the actress dismissed the reports, however, a a year later, Trisha and Varun got engaged only to call off the impending marriage. 

Assets

Trisha has worked in three film industries in South India and is also a brand ambassador to various products’ brands. According to reports, her net worth has grown to nearly Rs 120 crores. She also owns a huge palatial bungalow worth Rs 15 crore in Chennai and another luxurious house worth Rs 8 crore in Hyderabad.
