According to sources from Chennai, Tamil director Siva currently helming the magnum opus 'Kanguva' has played a pivotal role in introducing his close friend director Boyapati Sreenu to Tamil superstar Suriya.

Siva and Boyapati share a close bond and mutually admire each other's work. It was on Siva's recommendation that Suriya showed interest in collaborating with Boyapati Sreenu. "Siva helped set up a meeting between Boyapati and Suriya in Mumbai. On Siva's advice, Suriya heard a story idea from Boyapati but couldn't agree because he was too busy," the source said.

After directing blockbusters like 'Sarrainodu' with Allu Arjun and 'Akhada' with Nandamuri Balakrishna, Boyapati Sreenu is now eyeing collaborations with Tamil stars. A few Tamil actors including Vishal have shown interest in Boyapati's action flicks and have met with him to discuss potential projects.

Interestingly, Boyapati Sreenu has the backing of a corporate house that is willing to invest a whopping Rs 150 crore for a Boyapati-Tamil star movie, which could expedite the process. "Since many Telugu stars are occupied for the next year, Boyapati is venturing into Kollywood to exhibit his projects," the source added.

Meanwhile, Boyapati Sreenu is preparing to reunite with Nandamuri Balakrishna for the sequel to their hit film 'Akhanda.' This move is seen as an opportunity for the director to regain his footing in the Telugu film industry, following the lackluster performance of his previous film 'Skanda.' The source further suggested that Boyapati's foray into the Tamil film space could allow him to emulate the success of other directors like Vamsi Paidipally ('Varisu') and Venky Atluri ('Vaathi'), who have expanded their reach across neighbouring states.
