Hyderabad: BJP leader and former MLA and now candidate for Medak Lok Sabha seat, M Raghunandan Rao has appealed to the DGP to file cases against former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), former minister Harish Rao, and the then collector, accusing them of being involved in the phone tapping case during the previous government.

Raghunandan Rao has urged the Director General of Police (DGP), Ravi Gupta, to register separate FIRs against KCR, Harish Rao, who was in charge of the Dubbaka elections, and the then collector Venkatarami Reddy. He has accused them of being involved in the 'illegal tapping of phones, including his own and his family members', during the Dubbaka by-election and the Assembly elections.

Addressing the reporters after submitting a memorandum to the DGP's office, Rao stated that if a thorough inquiry is not conducted into the phone tapping allegations, he will approach the courts. The BJP leader has also appealed to the current Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and the Chief Justice of India to take cognizance of the matter and initiate appropriate action.

Referring to the statement made by Praneeth Rao, who was arrested earlier, Raghunandan Rao highlighted that phone tapping had allegedly occurred during the Dubbaka, Huzurabad, and Munugode by-elections as well, and he requested the DGP to take action based on Praneeth Rao's statement.

Medak LS candidate also asserted that there was no question of phone tapping taking place without the instructions of the then Chief Minister, KCR. He further alleged that some people had tapped the phones of individuals in the film industry and real estate traders, extorting money through threats.
